Я откопал только вот это
1)Was in Mel Brook s movie, "Men in Tights". Sheriff says to guards to kill the mime, King says, "wait!...A mime is a terrible thing to waste". So they let him go. And yes it is a play on words from the UNCF slogan, as is most of Mel Brook s dialogues.
2)It's a play on the tagline of most (if not all) of United ***** College Fund's ad-"A mind is a terrible thing to waste." I've heard variants of the mime remix since the early 80s and it might well go back further, since
the UNCF has been using that closing line for close to a half-century.
